Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ScholarStack, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using ScholarStack on behalf of an educational institution, you represent that you have the authority to bind that institution to these terms. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service.
Description of Service
ScholarStack is an AI-powered educational platform that provides chat-agent-based tutoring, document search, course management, and learning analytics. The platform uses artificial intelligence to assist students and instructors, and features may vary based on your organization's configuration.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree not to share your account, submit harmful or misleading content through AI features, attempt to circumvent access controls, or use the platform in any way that violates applicable laws or institutional policies.
Data and Privacy
Your use of ScholarStack is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Educational institutions using ScholarStack may have additional data processing agreements in place. Student education records are handled in compliance with applicable regulations including FERPA. Organization administrators have access to compliance tools for data export and deletion.
AI-Generated Content
ScholarStack uses AI to generate educational responses, summaries, and analytics. AI-generated content is provided as a learning aid, may contain errors or omissions, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice — including medical, legal, financial, or mental-health guidance. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for academic, professional, or personal decisions. ScholarStack does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated responses.
Intellectual Property
Content you create and upload to ScholarStack remains your intellectual property. By uploading content, you grant ScholarStack a limited license to process it for providing the service (including AI-powered features). Course materials and resources uploaded by instructors are governed by their institution's policies. The ScholarStack platform, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of ScholarStack.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to ScholarStack. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the service. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.
Limitation of Liability
ScholarStack is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScholarStack will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform — including reliance on AI-generated content, data loss, or service interruptions. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount paid by you (or your institution on your behalf) for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if no fees were paid.
Termination
You may stop using ScholarStack at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if your institution ends its relationship with us, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, your account and associated data may be retained or deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any data processing agreement with your institution.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the platform or by email. Continued use of ScholarStack after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
